“I Challenge the Patriarchal Norm One Song At A Time”
(Giselle) Two years ago, I attended TEDxUF at the Phillips Center to table for an organization. After I finished tabling, I joined 1500+ people in the audience to listen to the speakers’ talks. After attending that event, I knew I wanted to be on that TEDx stage one day.
The following year, Erik and I were asked to perform at TEDxUF when they quickly transitioned their in-person event online due to COVID-19.
And tomorrow…tomorrow…I take the TEDxUF stage as a speaker! When I opened the email back in November telling me that I was selected, I screamed. And if you know me, you know how difficult it was for me to keep this news a secret for so long.
I am incredibly proud and grateful to have the opportunity to share a story (and maybe even a song 😉) that means so much to me, personally and professionally. I’ve spent nearly 6 months pouring my heart into this talk, and I cannot wait to share it with you.
The fact that this event is online means that anyone from anywhere can tune in…and for free!
